New drama film "Speaking Dead" has been confirmed for screening at the 30th Bucheon International Fantasy Film Festival (BIFAN).
The work, which stars Han Suk-kyu, Jung Yu-mi and others, will be shown for the first time at the festival.
"Speaking Dead" is a drama that begins with the confession of forensic expert Jang Jae-wook (Han Suk-kyu), who is the prime suspect in a high-profile terrorist case, and follows the journey to uncover the truth behind a case that has been kept secret for more than a decade.
At the 30th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, scheduled for July 2-12, “Speaking Dead” received an official invitation to participate in the newly created “Phantascapes” section. This section is concerned with displaying works belonging to various cinematic genres, including comedy, romance and fantasy, and will give the film the opportunity to meet the local audience for the first time.
A promotional poster for the work has been revealed featuring the main characters of the series: forensic expert Jang Jae-wook (Han Suk-kyu), criminal behavior analyst (Jung Yu-mi), prosecutor (Lee Hye-joon), head of the investigation department (Yeom Hye-ran), and military lawyer (Kim Joon-han). The appearance of the characters against the backdrop of Gwanghwa-mun Square, along with the phrase “The truth has been hidden,” indicate the mysterious atmosphere of the series. Also joining the cast are Ryu Hae-young as a social affairs reporter, and Kim Yu-mi as the military lawyer's girlfriend.
The newly released teaser begins with a monologue by Jang Jae Wook's character, saying, "We are all connected. If you touch one of us, you unleash a chain reaction." As the scenes and dialogues continue between the characters related to the case, the advertisement reflects the atmosphere of tension that abounds in the dramatic work.
"Speaking Dead" will be shown on July 11 as part of the Bucheon International Fantasy Film Festival, in a cinematic format that combines the first and second parts.
