Song Hye Kyo has parted ways with UAA (United Artists Agency), the agency she was associated with for 14 years.
On the morning of June 26, UAA stated, “Our exclusive contract with Song Hye Kyo has recently ended. After a long period of mutual trust and joint work, UAA and Song Hye Kyo have decided to end their journey together and support each other’s future endeavors.”
The agency continued, "Throughout her many years of work with UAA, actress Song Hye Kyo has enjoyed tremendous love, not only in South Korea, but throughout Asia and the entire world. The times we spent together will remain etched in our memories as happy and precious memories."
She concluded, "We ask fans to continue to show their warm concern, encouragement, and love for 'Song Hye Kyo,' who is now starting a new chapter."
Meanwhile, actress Song Hye Kyo is preparing to star in the new Netflix series "Tantara," which is scheduled to premiere in the second half of this year. The script was written by writer No Hye-kyung, while the series was directed by director Lee Yeon-jung (who previously directed the series "Cheese in the Trap").
Co-starring alongside Song Hye Kyo are Gong Yoo, Cha Sung Won, Kim Sol Hyun, and Lee Ha Ni. The series takes place behind the scenes of the Korean entertainment industry during the period from the 1960s to the 1980s - an era characterized by rampant brutality and violence - and tells the story of people who struggle fiercely in their quest for success.
