SBS revealed a special teaser for its upcoming Korean series Nightmare.
“Nightmare” tells the story of a group of fighters who imprison villains who cannot be punished under the law, not in prison, but inside nightmares. By crossing the boundaries between dreams and reality, they implement an imaginary form of justice.
The events of the teaser take place in a city sparkling with night lights, and it begins by referring to various incidents and incidents taking place in the city. It highlights a bitter reality in which the daily lives of innocent people are destroyed by violent crimes and industrial accidents, while those responsible for their crimes escape punishment, citing flimsy excuses such as weak mental capacity.
The teaser then shows Detective Kim Tae Yi (Kim Nam Gil) inspecting the crime scene, his gaze filled with a complex mix of emotions. He says, "You've ruined someone's daily life, yet you're going to sleep soundly tonight?" - A dialogue that reflects his anger towards criminals who escaped punishment.
His next announcement – “So, tonight, we will come to you... into your dreams” – sparks curiosity about Kim Tae-yi’s method of punishing evil. It increases anticipation about how justice will be achieved for the most horrific criminals and the final blow that he will deal to them as he plunges them into an unbearable hell inside their nightmares.
“Nightmare” is expected to offer more than just the thrill and satisfaction of achieving self-justice. The series is expected to create a deep emotional resonance through its exploration of human nature, specifically his willingness to sacrifice himself to save others, as well as stories that go beyond this altruism.
It will be released in 2027.
