Lee Joon Ho is in talks to star in a new Korean series as the water god.
On June 12, a media outlet reported that Lee Joon Ho had been chosen to star in the new drama "Foreign Monster Embassy in Korea" (literal title).
Lee Joon Ho's agency O3 Collective stated, "Lee Joon Ho has received an offer to star in the new drama 'Foreign Monster Embassy' in Korea, and he is positively considering the offer."
"Foreign Monster Embassy in Korea" is a romantic comedy film about a rookie human diplomat who is mistakenly assigned to the Foreign Monster Embassy in Korea, an institution responsible for managing monsters living in South Korea, and the ambassador who is actually a dragon unbeknownst to others.
According to reports, Lee Joon Ho was offered the role of Cha Eun, the water god who rules over water. He is the head of the world's most mysterious embassy, and a supernatural being - a dragon - has been unable to leave this earth for 1,200 years.
The drama series is scheduled to premiere on tvN in 2027. It will be directed by Bae Hyun-jin (Big Mouth, Alchemy of Souls), while Shin Ha-eun (Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha) will write the script.
