JYJ's Kim Jae Joong and actress Kong Seung Ha will star in the upcoming mystery horror film Gentleman.
On February 29, it was officially revealed that Kim Jae Joong and Kong Seung Ha will be the main leads of the upcoming film which will be directed by Japanese director Kumakiri Kazuyoshi.
Gentleman is about three missing college students who go on a field trip to an abandoned shrine in Japan. A male shaman and his college mate will delve into the events and discover the identity of the demons surrounding them.
Kim Jae Joong will play the role of Park Soo Jung. He is the shaman in the play. Kong Seung Ha will portray the role of Park Soo Jung's college classmate. Together they will delve into the events at the abandoned shrine.
The upcoming film will be the first Korean film directed by director Kumakiri Kazuyoshi. He is known for winning several awards at the 25th Shanghai International Film Festival. He was also honored by the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival and the 27th Bucheon International Film Festival for his 2023 film, #Manhole.
Gentleman will begin filming in March. All filming will be done in Japan.
This will be Kim Jae Joong's big return to the big screen. He was last seen in a movie in 2012's Codename: Jackal. The actor will also star in the upcoming Korean drama Bad-Memory Eraser.
Meanwhile, Kong Seung Ha is currently starring in the K-drama Doctor Slump with Park Hyung Sik, Park Shin Hye, Yoon Park, Oh Dong Min, and Jang Hyo Jin.. This upcoming film will also mark her return to the film scene.
