Hwang Jung Eum is filing for divorce for the second time.
On February 22, Hwang Jung Eum's agency Y1 Entertainment announced that Hwang Jung Eum had officially filed for divorce. According to the agency, Hwang Jung Eum and her husband decided to end their marriage after long consideration.
Below is the agency's official statement:
“Hello, this is Y1, the agency affiliated with actress Hwang Jung Eum.
After much thought, Hwang Jung Eum concluded that it would be difficult to continue her marriage. She is currently processing her divorce.
We sincerely request your understanding that details such as the reason for divorce cannot be revealed as it is the private life of the couple.
We also ask you to refrain from spreading rumors and false reports that would harm the reputation of the actress and her children.”
Hwang Jung Eum married businessman and former professional golfer Lee Young Don in 2016. The two welcomed their first child in 2017. In 2020, the couple filed for divorce but were reunited during mediation in 2021. A year later, Hwang Jung Eum and her husband welcomed their second child.
Last year, Hwang Jung Eum led the K-drama The Escape of the Seven: War for Survival with Uhm Ki Joon, Lee Joon, Lee Yeo Bi, Shin Eun Kyung, and Yoon Jung Hoon.
The actress is expected to return to the new season of The Resurrection of the Seven, which will premiere this year.
