On October 19, Netflix revealed the main poster and trailer for its original Korean drama Daily Dose of Sunshine.
Daily Dose of Sunshine delves into the diverse stories of the people Nurse Da Eun encounters in the psychiatric ward, shedding light on their world and emotional struggles.
The main poster shows the four main protagonists of the K-drama: Nurse Da Eun (Park Bo Young) from the Mental Health Department of Myungshin University Hospital, and colleague Jo Eun (Yeon Woo Jin) from the Colorectal Surgery Department, Da Eun's best friend. Yoo Chan (Jang Dong-yeon) and Hyo-jin (Lee Jung-eun), the head nurse in the psychiatry department.
The poster arouses curiosity about the experiences they will face in the psychiatric ward – a place bathed in bright sunlight, devoid of curtains – and whether they will continue to smile brightly.
The show begins with an enchanting scene, showing Da On's house floating in the air as if out of a fairy tale. On her first day in the psychiatric ward, head nurse Hyo-jin introduces her to her colleagues.
Da Eun, who is dealing with her first patient in the psychiatric ward, prepares herself, thinking she can do a good job. As she listens to patients' stories and delves into their private world, Da Eun faces unexpected challenges, makes mistakes, encounters setbacks, feels frustrated at times, and grows through new experiences.
The promo builds anticipation for the drama as Nurse Da Eun, who navigates life's challenges day and night, looks forward to a brighter morning in the psychiatric ward.
Actor Jang Dong-yeon commented that the drama provides healing through its warm theme and genre.
“Every one of us is always suffering from a mental illness, and I think we should boldly admit it and ask for help from those around us,” Yeon Woo Jin said, highlighting the strength of “Daily Dose of Sunshine” in breaking down misconceptions and prejudices.
Lee Jung Eun echoed these sentiments, stressing that the drama aims to make viewers realize that they are not alone in their challenges.
