tvN is considering the next season after Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938.
On June 13, media channel Dong-A reported that tvN is currently considering the third season of Tale of the Nine-Tailed. According to reports, the K-drama's production team asked the actors to join them in season 3 and they shared positive feedback. According to them, all the actors have great affection for the K-drama and have expressed their desire to return for a new season.
The first two seasons of Tale of the Nine-Tailed are produced by directors Kang Shin-hyo and Jo Nam-hyung and writer Han Woo-ri.
The Korean drama starred Lee Dong Wook, Kim Bum, and Jo Bo Ah in the first season. In the second season of Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938, Kim So-yeon and Rubo Kyung-soo were added as main protagonists.
Not only has the tvN drama been loved by its local and international viewers but even the actors themselves have been very vocal about their affection for the series. The main actors of the two seasons, Lee Dong Wook and Kim Bum, were also seen crying in their last filming for the K-drama.
Many are hoping that there will be a third season of the popular Korean fantasy drama.
For the first season, it focused on the romance between Lee Dong Wook's character Lee Yeon and Jo Bo Ah's character who is a modern-day Nam Ji Ah. It also showed the conflict between the fox brothers Lee Dong Wook and Kim Bum as (Lee Rang). The first season aired in 2020 and achieved the highest viewership rating of 5,807%.
The second season titled Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 recently concluded and achieved the highest viewership rating of 8,024%. In this new season, it showed the journey of Lee Yeon who entered the 1938 era. It also revealed his friendship and conflict with the new characters Ryu Hong Jo (Kim So Yeon) and Chun Mo Young (Ryu Kyung Soo). Li Yun also got to reunite with his brother Li Rang again.
In the final episode of Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938, a scene hinted at the possibility of a third season. There was a scene in which Lee Yeon traveled through time to another era, the Joseon Dynasty.
