Miss A's Yang Se Jong and Bae Suzy have been confirmed to star in the upcoming Netflix original series 'The Girl Downstairs'.
On December 12, Netflix officially confirmed that Yang Se Jong and Bae Suzy will be the main leads in the upcoming Korean drama.
"The Girl Downstairs" will base its story on a webtoon titled Lee Do Na written by Min Seung Ah. The upcoming K-drama will tell the romantic story of a former K-Pop idol and an ordinary college student who will become roommates.
Bae Suzy will play the role of Lee Do Na. She served as the group's lead singer and is the central and most popular member. Lee Do Na suddenly announced that she was retiring from the industry and decided to stay in a shared house at the university.
Yang Se Jong will play the character named Lee Won Joon. He is an ordinary college student with a warm and pure heart. It will serve as Lee Do Na's resting place.
“The Girl Downstairs” will be the next work from director Lee Jeong-hyo who is known as the man behind the popular Korean dramas “Crash Landing on You,” “Life on Mars,” “The Good Wife,” “Witch’s Romance,” and more.
This will be Yang Se Jong's first official K-drama in four years. The actor entered the army in 2020 and was discharged in November 2021.
Yang Se Jong last appeared in the 2019 drama “My Country: The New Age” with Woo Do Hyun, Kim Sol Hyun, Jang Hyuk, Kim Young Chul, and Ahn Nae Sang. Before his enlistment, he made a guest appearance in the 2020 series "Dr. Romantic 2."
Meanwhile, this will be Bae Suzy's next project after the 2022 original series "Anna".
This will also be Bae Suzy's first original K-drama for Netflix. In addition to the drama The Girl Downstairs, Bae Suzy will star in the upcoming film “Wonderland” with Park Bo Gum, Choi Woo Shik, and Jung Yu Mi.
