On February 24, Korean news outlet Ilgan Sports reported that the actor will play a role in an upcoming Netflix production titled “Model Family” (literal title). So Ji Sub's agency 51K later stated, "Soo Ji Sub received an offer for a role in 'Model Family' on Netflix and is reviewing it favorably."
“Model Family” will show what happens when an ordinary family on the verge of collapse due to bankruptcy and internal disputes gets involved with a bloodthirsty drug gang. Amidst dangerous missions and escape attempts, the family members will band together and become a model family as they stand against the drug cartel that threatens their livelihoods. At the helm of production is director Kim Jin Woo, who directed the drama “Love Alarm 2.”
If So Ji Sub accepts the offer, he will play Ma Kwang Chul, the tough but quick-witted second-in-command of a drug gang. He began running a gambling venue and entertainment establishment, caught the eye of the head of a drug ring and ended up taking on a management role. After searching for traces of gang members who disappeared while delivering money to a merchant ship, he met an ordinary family.
So Ji Sub previously starred in the movie Confession and is currently filming the upcoming movie Alien (literal title).
