On October 6, it was officially confirmed that Rowoon would finally star in his first ever film. According to reports, Rowoon will join the cast of the upcoming Japanese film "Eiga Last Man - FIRST LOVE" before enlisting in the army.
"Eiga Last Man - FIRST LOVE" is based on the Japanese drama "The Last Man: Blind Detective" (2023). It revolves around Hiromi Minami, a blind FBI special agent, and Shintaro Godou, a detective in the First Investigation Division. The two will cooperate to solve many difficult cases.
The upcoming film will be the next work of writer Kuroiwa Tsutomu. He is best known for writing the works "Zen Ryuki Ejo Kaiketsu Shitsu", "Golden Kamui", "Kingdom 1 to 4" and others.
In the film, Rowoon will portray Clyde Yeun, an FBI special agent, just like Hiromi Minami.
The producer explained why Rowoon was chosen, saying, “Clyde Yoon is a strong-willed character who is a direct rival to Minami. Rowoon, with his unique charm and exceptional talent, is the only actor who can embody this difficult role brilliantly.”
Rowoon also shared his thoughts on joining the upcoming film, saying, "Taking on this Japanese project was a new and big professional challenge, but since my goal has always been to act in a different language and culture, I was very excited. I hope viewers will follow my ambitious and confident character, Clyde Yeun, and follow his development throughout the film."
Eiga Last Man - FIRST LOVE- will be released in Japan on December 24.
Rowoon is currently starring in the Disney+ original K-drama “The Murky Stream,” alongside Shin Ye Eun, Park Seo Ham, Park Ji Hwan, Jun Bae Soo, and Choi Gwi Hwa.
October 27 marks the beginning of his military service.
