On August 14, Disney+ revealed the release date for its upcoming action drama The Worst of Evil. The K-drama, starring Ji Chang Wook, Woo Ha Joon, and MC Mi, is scheduled to be released on September 27.
Set in the 1990s, The Worst of Evil follows the journey of police officer Jun Mo (Ji Chang Wook), who infiltrates a Korean-Chinese-Japanese drug syndicate based in Gangnam, with the aim of dismantling its operations.
Accompanying the release announcement, a publicity poster was also released.
Set against a Gangnam backdrop, the poster gives a retro 90s feel and features Ki-chul (Wei Ha-joon), the mastermind behind the criminal organization, and Jun-mo (Ji Chang-wook), who goes undercover to investigate drugs. They both exude an air of attractive design as they confidently walk through the bustling streets of Gangnam, leaving a lasting impression.
Of particular note is the impeccable transformation of the actors.
Ji Chang Wook plays Park Joon Mo, who is tasked with infiltrating the Gangnam Foundation, and is poised to deliver a very powerful performance, perhaps the most convincing of his career. The actor's confirmation that he poured his heart into the role adds to the intense excitement surrounding the drama.
Wi Ha Joon, who plays Jung Ki Cheol, the enigmatic leader of the Gangnam Foundation, brilliantly portrays the multi-faceted nature of the character. From his unwavering determination to achieve success at all costs, to his unwavering loyalty, Wi Ha Joon's performance breathes life into Ki Chul's character.
Actress MC Mi stars as Yoo Eui Jung, the wife of Park Joon Mo (Yi Chang Wook) and a narcotics officer.
