In June, HISTORY D reported&C's affiliate Ha Song Joong Ki said the actor was positively reviewing the offer to star in the upcoming crime film "Hwaran" (title in Romanization).
On September 30, Song Joong Ki's representatives confirmed that he will be acting in "Hwaran" "without guarantee," meaning that he has decided not to receive payment for his appearance.
“Hwaran” is a crime film about a young man named Yoon Gyu (Hong Sa Bin) who wants to escape from his hellish reality. When he meets Chi Geun (Song Joong Ki), who is in charge of the middle management of an organization, the two embark together into a dangerous world.
The film also stars BIBI.
The film is produced by HISTORY D&C, which is also Song Joong Ki's agency.
However, the agency stressed that its involvement in the production had nothing to do with the actor's decision not to receive a separate fee for his appearance.
The actor shared, "I am happy to be appearing in 'Hwaran' and since it is a project that will be a new challenge for me, it feels new. I am looking forward to the competitive and emotional combination that we will create with the director and actors."
Song Joong Ki is currently filming the JTBC drama “Chaebol Family’s Youngest Son”, a fantasy drama based on the hit web novel of the same name about a chaebol family secretary who is reborn as the youngest son of the family.
