The 2020 APAN Awards (including the Music Awards and Star Awards) were previously scheduled to be held in November, but were postponed due to an increase in coronavirus cases in South Korea. The 2020 APAN Star Awards were held on January 23 and the 2020 APAN Music Awards will be held on January 24
Hyun Bin won the Daesang (Grand Prize) for his role in tvN's drama Crash Landing on You. He said in his speech, "Thank you. I am happy to start 2021 with such a big award. I feel like I have to work even harder this year to repay this honor. So far, 'Crash Landing on You' is receiving a lot of love. Thank you to the drama fans, not only in Korea but all over the world."
He continued, "A lot of people worked hard to create 'Crash Landing on You'. I am grateful to the writers, directors and all the production crew. It was a great honor to work with the wonderful senior and young actors, who all showed great acting. I am also grateful to Son Ye Jin, who was Yoon Se Ri as the perfect partner for Ri Jung Hyuk. Thanks to her wonderful acting in the role of Yoon Se Ri, Ri Jung Hyuk was able to shine. Thank you."
He concluded, "I will continue to work hard so that I can show a better and better side of myself. I think I will release a film this year, and I cautiously hope that the day we meet in the cinema without masks and smiling brightly. Please stay healthy and happy. I hope this year will be much better than last year."
