Dasom first auditioned for JYP. She appeared in the music videos for “Shady Girl” and VIXX’s “Rock Ur Body”, and played a high-school student in “Shut Up Family”. She first dyed her hair for “Shady Girl”. She is known for her aegyo and is one of Sistar’s strongest English speakers. She has described feeling shy about being called an actress and feeling jealous of the attention managers gave Hyorin. She shared a room with Soyu and has spoken of her close, sisterly relationship with her group. Her friends include Nana of After School, Hwayoung of T-ara, Kwangmin and Youngmin of Boyfriend, and Heechul of Super Junior, whom she knew before “Shady Girl”. Hwayoung has said that Dasom looks prettier without makeup. Leeteuk described her as sensitive, innocent and kind-hearted; on “Strong Heart”, she said that he sent her text messages at three in the morning. Dasom grew up in a strict, conservative family. She has described herself as very shy, avoiding communal showers and changing clothes with the other members, and wearing long sleeves even at the dorm. She drinks milk when she cannot sleep, and has said that gaining weight easily causes her stress. Her favorite color is green and her favorite singer is BoA. She finds TOP of Big Bang handsome but intimidating, and becomes emotional when meeting her favorite stars.
