Akanishi Jin

Akanishi Jin is a Japanese singer, songwriter, actor, voice actor, and television personality. Akanishi was a member of the popular Japanese pop group Kat-Tun until July 2010, and was one of the lead singers. Since their debut in 2006, the band has achieved 14 consecutive No. 1 albums (including studio albums) on the Oricon charts. He also made his debut as a singer for the band Rocklands, alongside Takeshi Kobayashi in the film Bandage. As a band in the movie Bandag, he ranked first on the Oricon chart with his album "Olympus" (released on January 13). This is Landes' second consecutive No. 1 after the release of their first single in November of last year. The only other time in history that an album named after a movie character topped the charts was in October 1996, when YENTOWN released their album "MONTAGE" in the film "Swallowtail Butterfly" by Shunji Iwai. Akanishi co-starred in the Hollywood film "47 Ronin", in which Keanu Reeves plays the title role. Akanishi played Chikara Oishi, a friend of Kai, played by Reeves. The film's director, Karl-Erik Reinsch, seems to have been impressed by Akanishi's English ability and enthusiasm. In this case, Akanishi Jin will be the second Johnny's Entertainment artist under the agency, after Ninomiya Kazunari of "Letters From Iwo Jima," to star in a Hollywood film, and the third overall to work with an American director. NEWS' Teguchi Yuya was the second lead in "Memoirs of an Amnesiac Teen," but that film is considered a Japanese production directed by Hans Canossa. Akanishi and Kuroki Misa married on February 2, 2012. They had their first child, Thea, on September 23, 2012, and their second child, a son, on June 6, 2017. They announced their divorce on December 25, 2023.
